Betnovate-n belongs to the group of topical corticosteroids. A topical corticosteroid is used to treat skin conditions such as redness, itching, burns, etc. It also contains neomycin, which helps to treat bacterial infections of the skin. Betnovate-n has also been proved effective for inflamed skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis.

Ingredients of the cream

The Betnovate-n cream contains the following:

Betamethasone 17 valerate 0.1%: It is the active or main ingredient in this cream.
Neomycin sulphate 0.5%: Antibacterial agent.
Chlorocresol: A preservative
Cetomacrogol 1000, white soft paraffin, and liquid paraffin.
The cream does not contain any parabens, colouring agents, or lanolin.

For Acne

Betnovate-n cream should not be used to treat acne until and unless your dermatologist prescribes it. It can worsen acne. Acne is caused due to various reasons. It could be hormonal, fungal, or any other. Betnovate-n belongs to a group of antibiotics and steroids and should be used as recommended by the doctor or pharmacist.
