Fungal infections start to occur in moist places of the body; feet, between the toes, moist hands, or genital area. Most common fungal infections are caused by yeast. E.g., Candida or Malassezia, or dermatophytes. Travocort cream is an anti-fungal cream that is used to stop the growth of these fungus on the human body.

Isoconazole nitrate treats fungal diseases of the skin, and Diflucortolone valerate suppresses inflammation of the skin and gets rid of itching. It is used to treat various diseases like:

Fungal infections of hairless and hairy skin. Regions of the hands, feet, between the toes, and the inguinal and genital regions.

  • Eczematous skin conditions
  • Ringworm (tinea corporis)
  • Dermatophytosis
  • Jock itch
  • Yeast Infection
  • Fungal nappy rash
  • Athlete's foot (tinea pedis)
  • Cutaneous Candidiasis
  • Onychomycosis (tinea unguium)

Travocort cream for the Baby rash

Travocort cream may be used for Baby rash if the rash is of fungal infection.

Travocort cream for Thrush

Travocort cream is not recommended for Oral Thrush (oropharyngeal candidiasis) as it is applied superficially and topically only. Therefore, it is recommended for Vaginal Thrush.

It is widely used as an effective topical agent for Dermatophyte, Yeast and other Fungal infections (Intertrigo, Athlete's foot, Ringworm, Pityriasis versicolor, Fungal nappy rash).

The formula of Travocort cream

Travocort Cream contains isoconazole nitrate (1-[2,4-dichloro-β-(2,6-dichlorobenzyloxy)-phenethyl]- imidazole, nitrate) 10 mg and diflucortolone valerate (6α,9-difluoro-11β-hydroxy-21-valeryloxy-16α-methyl- 1,4-pregna-diene-3,20-dione) 1 mg in an easy-to-remove low fat base oil water emulsion.

How to Store Travocort cream?

  • Do not store above 30c.
  • Do not expose it to light, moisture, or excessive heat.
  • Keep it out of reach of children.

During treatment with this drug to avoid renewed infection, personal linen (facecloth, towels, underwears if possible of cotton) should be changed daily and boiled. Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.

Every Anti-fungal cream needs strict precautionary measures before it can be applied, such as:

  • Make sure to avoid Travocort from the eyes. It should not at any cost come in contact with the patient's eyes. If, in any case, it goes inside the eye, one should rinse it off with plenty of water. If encounters eye for a longer time, an eye condition called Glaucoma may develop.
  •  Do not apply Travocort cream inside your mouth. It should not be swallowed, nor should it be applied in the inner areas of the mouth.
  • Keep Travocort cream out of reach of children.
  • Prolong use may damage the site of the application or organs.
  • Use a thinner layer; avoid applying thick heavy coats of the cream.
  • Avoid applying other products on the skin if you have already applied this cream.
  • Do not apply it on open wounds, chapped, flaky, or sunburned skin, for it may cause inflammation.

  • Itching (pruritus)
  • Dryness or flaky patches at the site of application
  • Blisters may develop at the site of application.
  • Stretch marks may appear where the cream is applied.
  • Skin Irritation can occur.
  • The burning sensation is produced
  • An allergic skin reaction can happen.
  • Skin atrophy may occur – Thinning of the skin.
  • Folliculitis may occur
  • Hypertrichosis – increased body hair growth
